Former Fulham midfielder John Collins has claimed that the club is taking a "huge gamble" by appointing Felix Magath as first-team manager.
The 60-year-old German arrived at Craven Cottage on Friday, even though head coach Rene Meulensteen remains under contract in West London.
Magath now has 12 games to get the team off the bottom of the Premier League table.
"There are very strange goings-on at Fulham and I'm not liking what I'm seeing," Collins told talkSPORT.
"It seems to me Fulham have made some rash decisions. We've not really heard from the owner in the last few months and he hasn't really answered any questions. Something has happened in the background but it would be nice to know why.
"They've taken a huge, huge gamble. It's in the lap of the gods now."
Fulham continue their Premier League campaign on Saturday when they travel to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion.
