Freiburg 1-2 Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen pick up their first away points of the season with a 2-1 win over Freiburg.

Werder Bremen have recorded their first away win of the season by coming from behind to beat Freiburg this evening.

The hosts piled the pressure on in the first half, coming close to breaking the deadlock through Cedrick Makiadi and Daniel Caligiuri in the opening half-hour.

They finally did take the lead in the 36th minute when Jonathan Schmid's strike beat Sebastian Mielitz in the Bremen goal.

The visitors responded immediately after the interval when Marko Arnautovic found Joseph Akpala, who fired his side level.

Bremen completed the turnaround just before the hour mark when Kevin de Bruyne set up Aaron Hunt, and the German midfielder made no mistake to score his third goal of the season.

That goal proved to be the winner as Bremen recorded their first away points of the season to move into the top half of the Bundesliga table.
