Didier Deschamps blames Massimiliano Allegri for Paul Pogba blow

France coach Didier Deschamps hits out at Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri for overplaying Paul Pogba, who was ruled out for seven weeks.

France boss Didier Deschamps has told Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri that he only has himself to blame over Paul Pogba's injury setback.

Pogba is expected to miss up to seven weeks with a hamstring problem after limping out of Wednesday's 3-0 Champions League win away to Borussia Dortmund.

The French midfielder will now miss the quarter-final tie with AS Monaco, as well as Les Bleus' upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Denmark.

The 22-year-old had started and finished eight of Juventus' 11 games in all competitions in 2015, and Deschamps says that Allegri could have avoided the injury with a little more rotation.

"What happened is difficult for the player himself," he told reporters. "Paul has his first muscular injury, that's something new for him.

"Even when a young player is fit, these kind of things can happen.

"He's playing a lot of games. The seasons are long for him; he doesn't always have a real holiday. His body needed a break."

The former Manchester United midfielder has made 37 appearances for club and country this season.
