Everton defender Ashley Williams has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Stoke City.
The Potters are currently preparing for their first season back in the Championship, but that has not stopped the Staffordshire-based club from making a number of strong additions during the summer.
According to the Daily Mail, Gary Rowett is now looking to secure a loan deal for Williams, who could be allowed to leave Goodison Park before the start of the new campaign.
The Wales international has made a total of 73 appearances during two years with the Toffees, but new boss Marco Silva is open to parting ways with the 33-year-old.
The report claims that any deal could hinge on how much Stoke are prepared to contribute to Williams's wages over the coming season.
