Report: Everton bid £17m for Luis Muriel

Everton reportedly make a £17m bid for Sampdoria forward Luis Muriel, who has also been strongly linked with Sevilla.

Everton have reportedly made a £17m bid for Sampdoria forward Luis Muriel.

The 26-year-old, who scored 11 Serie A goals in 31 appearances during the 2016-17 campaign, is believed to have a release clause of £24m inserted into his contract at Sampdoria.

However, according to Marca, Everton, who are closing in on a deal for Malaga's Sandro Ramirez, are hopeful of signing the Colombian international for around £17m after submitting an offer to Sampdoria.

Muriel, who has also been strongly linked with a move to Sevilla, joined Sampdoria from Udinese in 2015, and has also represented Udinese, Granada and Lecce since moving to Europe from Colombian club Deportivo Cali in 2010.

The forward is also a 15-time Colombian international, although he has only found the back of the net once for the South American nation.
