Everton manager David Moyes prepares to add another goalkeeper to his squad in the January transfer window.

Everton manager David Moyes is poised to add another goalkeeper to his squad in the January transfer window.

Current number one Tim Howard has made 196 consecutive Premier League starts for the Toffees, but Moyes is keen for the American to have some competition to keep him on his toes.

"You need competition for every position and everybody has got to make sure they're at the top of their game," said Moyes, after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Norwich City. "We have to make sure we're not continually making mistakes that lead to goals."

Howard's current deputy, Jan Mucha, will be out of contract at the end of the season.
