Former Aston Villa and West Ham midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger joins Everton on a short-term loan deal.

Everton have completed the signing of former Aston Villa and West Ham United midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger on a short-term loan deal.

Hitztlsperger has been without a club since being released by Wolfsburg this summer but put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at Goodison Park until January.

The 30-year-old, who has been training with the Toffees for a number of weeks, is still awaiting international clearance for the move but will be eligible to play in Everton's match against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday once it goes through.

During his two spells in English football, Hitzlsperger made 127 appearances and scored 16 goals.
