Five players Everton could lose if they are relegated

A look at five players who could end up leaving Everton if the club are not able to survive this season in the Premier League as they prepare to battle relegation.

The relegation battle is heating up within the Premier League right now, and despite having never dropped out of the top flight before, Everton find themselves in the mix at the foot of the table.

Frank Lampard's club sit just one point above the bottom three, having only won a single game in the division since the former Chelsea boss took over.

The threat of dropping down a division is very much a reality for the club right now, and with financial difficulties surrounding Everton, they face the potential of losing some key players if that were to happen.

Richarlison

Richarlison is one of Everton's biggest stars, and the Brazilian is someone who has attracted interest from huge clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain in the past.

Because of that, the idea of the striker playing in the Championship seems out of the question, although it is possible, his quality is more than high enough to keep him in the top flight.

There has already been reported interest from several teams in the Premier League, who are keeping an eye on Everton's situation, which could lead to him moving on.

Jordan Pickford

Jordan Pickford is one of the first names on the Everton team sheet, and that has been the case for several seasons now, regardless of who is in the dugout leading the club.

The 28-year-old is a reliable pair of hands in goal, and someone who is very vocal, but as he enters the peak years of his career, it is likely that he wants to spend those in the Premier League.

With next season being a World Cup year, and Pickford facing plenty of competition for the number one shirt with England, retaining his status within the top flight could be key for him.

Yerry Mina

Yerry Mina is an underrated defender in the Premier League, being someone that brings tough-tackling, great aerial ability, and the option of playing in midfield as well.

That versatility could make him a player that a lot of other teams would be interested in signing if Everton were to be relegated, and as a key member of Colombia's international squad, the 27-year-old will want to be involved at the highest level.

Mina had been linked with a move away from Goodison Park before the start of this season, so if the Toffees are not able to retain their Premier League status, the club could be in trouble with him.

Dele Alli

Dele Alli might be one of Everton's newest players, but he is still someone that could end up moving away from Everton if the club was to relegated.

A big issue for the Toffees could be the wage cost for the midfielder, which might not be sustainable within the Championship, and with the England international wanting to restart his career, dropping down a division might not be in his best interest.

If the 25-year-old continues to struggle making his mark in the Everton team, he could end up being a player that Lampard has to move on in order to retain others.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

While he has had an injury-plagued season so far, Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains one of the bright sparks within the Everton squad, being a true threat to goal from any situation.

The England international is strong in the air and good with his feet, having scored 16 goals in the Premier League during the previous campaign, where he was fully fit.

However, that ability is something that will get a lot of other clubs excited should Everton end up being relegated, as he could be available on a discounted price, and considering the fact he is only 24 years old, a team could bring him in for the foreseeable future.
