Everton will not lodge an appeal with the Football Association against Phil Jagielka's red card against Wolverhampton Wanderers, ruling him out of their next three games.

Phil Jagielka will serve a three-match ban as Everton reportedly do not intend to appeal the red card he picked up against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Toffees skipper was dismissed by referee Craig Pawson for a challenge on Diogo Jota during the closing stages of the first half at Molineux.

Jagielka has claimed that he got the ball and boss Marco Silva also felt that the decision was "harsh", but former Premier League official Dermot Gallagher is adamant that the right call was made.

After reviewing the incident, the Liverpool Echo claims that Everton will not lodge an appeal with the Football Association.

Jagielka will therefore miss next weekend's home match against Southampton, as well as a trip to Southampton and an EFL Cup tie.

Wolves twice fought back from behind to rescue a 2-2 draw from Saturday evening's match.
