Eddie Howe talks up "outstanding" performance following win over Everton

Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe praises his side's "outstanding" display after the Cherries defeat previously-unbeaten Everton 1-0 in the Premier League.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has talked up his side's "outstanding" performance after the Cherries brought Everton's unbeaten start to the new Premier League season to an end this afternoon.

The coastal club were thankful for a first-half strike from Junior Stanislas, whose solitary goal sent the Toffees back down to earth after an outstanding start to life under new coach Ronald Koeman.

"To a man, we were absolutely brilliant," Howe told reporters, according to BBC Sport.

"It was an outstanding performance against a very good team. You need a result like this and a performance like this to really get the belief into the players.

"In this league, every week is extremely tough but if we can match that performance each week, we'll do well."

Saturday's win sees Bournemouth sitting in 13th place in the league standings.
