New Everton manager Frank Lampard has reportedly issued a £1,000 fine on the first day in charge of the club.

New Everton manager Frank Lampard fined a member of the squad on his first day in charge, according to a report.

During his time at Chelsea, it was well known that the former England international had set out a strict list of punishments with expensive fines for his squad.

That is something that the new boss has taken to Finch Farm in a bid to teach his squad some discipline that he hopes will help the club in their fight against relegation.

According to The Sun, Lampard fined one of the Everton players on his first day at the club, which was due to them arriving late to a meeting for tying their shoelaces.

The new boss told them to bring £1,000 to his office the next day, but when they did, the 43-year-old told the player it was just a warning, and he did not take any cash.

Lampard will have his first game in charge of the club today as they face Brentford in the FA Cup.
