Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has revealed that the club will refund fans who bought replica shirts with the names Mikel Arteta or Jermaine Beckford printed on the back.
Arteta was sold to Arsenal and Beckford moved to Leicester City on transfer deadline day.
Kenwright has said that the club will give a full refund to fans who bought the 2011/12 home or away shirts with the departed players' names printed on them.
"I simply want to try and play fair by those supporters who have spent hard-earned money," said Kenwright.
"I have been contacted by several supporters, a lot with children, who had bought the new shirts with Mikel and Jermaine's surnames on the back of them.
"Both players left the club quite literally at the very last minute on transfer deadline day. These are unusual circumstances."
Fans must be able to provide proof of purchase that they bought the shirt from the Everton One or Everton Two stores or through the club's official website.
The deadline for refunds is Friday, September 30.
