Everton 'to announce Ronald Koeman appointment this weekend'

Everton are reportedly planning to announce Ronald Koeman as the club's new manager by the end of the weekend after agreeing terms with the Southampton boss.

Ronald Koeman will reportedly be named as Everton's new manager at some point this weekend.

The Dutchman has been in talks with the Merseyside outfit in the last few days regarding a move from Southampton.

Koeman, who has one year remaining on his current deal with the Saints, was in positive discussions with the club regarding a new deal following the end of the season.

However, it is believed that Everton's promise of a bulging transfer budget is too much to turn down for the 53-year-old, who guided Southampton to sixth in the Premier League table, five places above the Toffees.

According to the Daily Mail, Koeman has agreed terms with Everton and is keen for the deal to be tied up before he goes on holiday next week.

The report adds that Koeman's decision is based on the funds being provided by new Everton owner Farhad Moshiri, meaning that the club will be able to compete for higher-calibre players in the market unlike Southampton, who have a stricter budget.

Everton are said to be covering the final year of Koeman's contract, thought to be worth around £3.5m.
