Victor Anichebe admits that he is not thinking about playing for Nigeria and is concentrating on Everton.

Everton striker Victor Anichebe has revealed that he is putting his club ahead of his country Nigeria, despite being in the plans of his national coach Stephen Keshi.

Anichebe has suffered from long-term injuries in recent seasons, but has recovered to score two goals in five Premier League appearances for Everton this term.

The 24-year-old has admitted that he owes Everton for sticking by him through his time out.

"I am thinking about Everton," Anichebe told the club's official website. "They have stuck by me and helped me get back fit so I'm thinking more about cementing [my place in] the side.

"The national team aspect hasn't come into my head. I just want them to do well."

Anichebe has one goal in 11 caps for Nigeria.
