Half-Time Report: Everton, Swansea City level

Jonathan de Guzman cancels out Lacina Traore's opener to leave the score level at 1-1 in the FA Cup clash between Everton and Swansea City this afternoon.

Everton and Swansea City head in at half time of their FA Cup fifth-round tie with the score level at 1-1

The away side had a good chance after just three minutes. Pablo Hernandez fed Alvaro Vazquez, who rounded the goalkeeper before passing to Roland Lamah, but the Belgian looped his effort straight at Joel Robles.

A minute later, Everton took the lead through debutant Lacina Traore, who back-heeled the ball into the back of the net after a free kick from Ross Barkley caused confusion in the box.

Barkley continued his bright start on nine minutes when he burst past two Swansea players, before striking just wide from a distance.

The Swans equalised on 15 minutes after Jonathan de Guzman made a late run into the box to meet a cross and head home.

After some great link-up play between Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar, the South African hit the post after flicking the ball over the goalkeeper. Traore tried to finish off the rebound and put his side back into the lead, but he couldn't get enough power on his header.

Kevin Mirallas threatened with a curling free kick from 20 yards out on 41 minutes, but his effort was hit straight at the goalkeeper.

Barkley had another chance for the hosts on 44 minutes, but his strike from the edge of the area whistled past the upright.
