Espanyol eye a shock January move for Stoke City forward Michael Owen, as they look to bolster their attack.

Espanyol reportedly want to sign Stoke City forward Michael Owen in January.

The Spanish club are on the lookout for a new striker and will promise to offer Owen more playing time than he is currently getting with the Potters.

The former England international has made only one appearance for Stoke since joining in the summer, and would not be averse to going to Spain.

While Espanyol are unable to offer big wages, they hope that the lure of regular playing time as well as Owen's fondness of Spain from his time at Real Madrid, could work in their favour.

According to Marca, the deal could be done in the first week of January.
