Report: Javier Aguirre to leave Espanyol in summer

A report claims that Espanyol boss Javier Aguirre will leave the Spanish side at the end of the season.

Espanyol boss Javier Aguirre will reportedly depart the Spanish side at the end of the season.

The 55-year-old, who has previously managed Mexico, has been in charge of the Spanish outfit since November 2012.

The experienced manager joined when the club were bottom of La Liga, but secured safety and has led the Barcelona-based side into 12th spot this season.

However, according to Sport, Aguirre will depart in the summer, with offers arriving from Qatar, Greece and Saudi Arabia.

The same report claims that former Queens Park Rangers and Swansea City boss Paulo Sousa, who is currently in charge of Maccabi Tel Aviv, is the favourite to replace Aguirre.
