Sergio Gonzalez facing sack at Espanyol?

A report claims that Espanyol boss Sergio Gonzalez is facing the sack just three games into the new season.

Sergio Gonzalez is reportedly heading for the sack at Espanyol.

The Spaniard, who represented Espanyol as a player from 1995 to 2001, took charge of the La Liga side this summer following the expiration of Javier Aguirre's contract.

However, the Barcelona-based team are yet to pick up a La Liga point this season and according to Mundo Deportivo, the manager's position is already uncertain.

Gonzalez managed Espanyol B last season before officially taking charge of the first team in May.

The former midfielder also represented his country 11 times during his playing career.
