England manager Roy Hodgson has suggested that Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is in his plans for the future, despite not selecting the player in his recent squad.
The 22-year-old, as well as his Swansea teammates Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge, were overlooked by the Three Lions for tonight's friendly against Norway and the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland.
"A player like Jonjo is always going to be in our thoughts," BBC Sport quotes Shelvey as saying. "I do know him better than I know the two players I have selected this time.
"I've worked with Jonjo Shelvey and know him quite well in fact, I made him captain of the Under-21 team in the one game I had."
Shelvey and his Swansea teammates are unbeaten so far this season.
