England winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has praised the blend of youth and experience in the squad for Wednesday's friendly against Denmark.

The Three Lions welcome the Danes to Wembley Stadium in midweek as they prepare for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

While veterans such as Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have been included in the squad, Oxlade-Chamberlain believes that youngsters like Luke Shaw and Ross Barkley give a good balance to the setup.

"There is a really good mix," he told reporters. "There are a lot of young players coming in and that's a credit to the academies around the country.

"The more competition for places the better, it keeps everyone on their toes. It's good for the manager to see all options."

Oxlade-Chamberlain has won 13 caps for England since he made his debut in 2012.
