Jonjo Shelvey reveals psychiatrist help

Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey explains how the help of a psychiatrist has seen him curb his aggression on the pitch ahead of England's meeting with San Marino.

Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has revealed how the help of psychiatrist has seen him curb his aggression on the pitch.

The ex-Liverpool midfielder, who has been called up to the latest England squad, explained that he has been seeing a psychiatrist for around six months, and stated how the help has been benefiting him ahead of the Three Lions' meeting with San Marino on Saturday.

Shelvey told reporters: "We've got a great psychiatrist at Swansea, he works for the Welsh national team too, and he's top notch and has helped a lot over the last six months.

"I'd get into tackles, get up and swear at someone, he'll swear at you and you square up - but the more you can limit that, the better you look.

"I can understand why people don't like me. I'm like Marmite, you either love me or hate me. But I'm totally different to what I am on the pitch. And even on the pitch, I don't have as many rows now."

Shelvey will win his second England cap if selected against San Marino.
