Fabio Capello hails England's young players after their 1-0 win against Spain at Wembley.

Fabio Capello has hailed England's young players after their 1-0 win against world and European champions Spain.

Stand-in captain Frank Lampard headed in the winner three minutes into the second half at Wembley.

However, the Italian picked out Jack Rodwell, Phil Jones, Danny Welbeck and Kyle Walker as the key performers in the victory.

"For me, the most important thing you saw this evening is the performance of Rodwell when he played, the performance of Jones, the performance of Welbeck," he said. "These are really good young players. Also Walker when he played.

"These players will be very important for the next Euros because you saw they played without fear and with personality on the pitch. Physically and technically I can see they are good to play with the seniors."

However, Capello did reserve praise for Scott Parker, who put in a Man of the Match performance.

"Parker, it was an incredible performance," he added. "He is improving every game. He is a really good player. He is an important player in front of the back four."

England take on Sweden in another international friendly on Tuesday night.
