Deportivo La Coruna appoint Fernando Vazquez

Fernando Vazquez replaces Domingos Paciencia as manager of La Liga strugglers Deportivo La Coruna.

Deportivo La Coruna have appointed Fernando Vazquez as the club's new manager.

Vazquez, 58, replaces Domingos Paciencia, who resigned earlier on Monday.

Depor have given Vazquez a contract until the end of the season, but the deal will automatically renew for a further year if the Spanish outfit avoid relegation.

"I am happy for this chance with Deportivo," said Vazquez. "I know this is a difficult time, but I am sure that nothing is impossible and the idea now is to win eight games."

Depor currently sit bottom of the La Liga table, six points from safety.
