All square between DC United, Philadelphia Union

Jack McInerney scores in the 90th minute to earn Philadelphia Union a point at DC United in the MLS.

Philadelphia Union scored in the 90th minute at RFK Stadium in Washington to earn a 1-1 draw with DC United in the MLS.

The hosts were on the front foot right from the start as Luis Silva, Chris Korb and Jared Jeffrey all came close in the opening 25 minutes.

Chris Pontius also tried his luck for United from outside the Union box in the 27th minute, but failed to keep his shot on target.

Then just past the half-hour mark Conor Casey tested Bill Hamid in the United goal when he tried to turn in Matt Kassel's cross.

However, the home side's pressure paid off in the 36th minute when set up by Lewis Neal, Nick DeLeon fired home from outside the Union penalty box and into the net.

Casey had two quick chances immediately after for the visitors, but on both occasion he was denied by Hamid.

United, though, were unlucky not to take a 2-0 advantage into the half-time interval as Conor Doyle's attempt from distance came back off the post.

Hosts United continued to press on for their second goal of the contest after the restart, although Union had chances of their own.

Michael Farfan and Casey both tested the home side's defence, while Kyle Porter was denied by a Zac MacMath save.

The match became end-to-end as it entered the final stages with both sides going for the kill. However, it was visitors Union who ended the contest on a happier note when they scored the equaliser in the 90th minute.

United failed to properly clear a free kick and Kleberson floated a cross back into the penalty area from the left that Jack McInerney headed home.
