Cameron Jerome: 'Tony Pulis can keep Crystal Palace in Premier League'

Crystal Palace forward Cameron Jerome tips new manager Tony Pulis to save the club from relegation this season.

Newly-appointed Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis will succeed in his task of keeping the club in the Premier League this season, according to striker Cameron Jerome.

The former Stoke City boss was officially named as Ian Holloway's successor at Selhurst Park on Saturday, hours before caretaker manager Keith Millen left his position on a high note by securing a 1-0 victory away to Hull City.

Palace sit second from bottom in the standings having amassed just seven points all season, but Jerome - who played under Pulis at the Britannia Stadium - has backed the 55-year-old to retain the club's top flight status beyond this campaign.

"What Tony will bring is experience and stability," the former Birmingham City forward told Sky Sports News.

"He took Stoke up from the Championship and solidified them as a mid-table Premier League team, so his record speaks for itself.

"People say it's a big ask to keep us up, but we're only three points off safety with 25 games to go. What sort of big ask is that?"

Pulis, whose first match in charge is a visit to fellow strugglers Norwich City on Saturday, recently suggested that Millen will remain at the club as part of his backroom staff.

Jerome, who is on a season-long loan deal at the Eagles from the Potters, is yet to open his account for the London-based club this term.
