Rangers boss Ally McCoist dismisses Crystal Palace speculation

Rangers boss Ally McCoist has said that he has not been contacted by Crystal Palace over their managerial vacancy.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has revealed that he has not been contacted by Crystal Palace over the vacant manager's job at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles reportedly lined up the 51-year-old as a potential replacement for Tony Pulis, who resigned two days before the new season began.

However, McCoist has said that he is fully committed to his current role at Rangers.

"There has been no contact at all with Crystal Palace. I've got a job to do here," the Belfast Telegraph quotes him as saying.

"Anyone who knows me will be aware that I am desperately keen to get the job here completed – the immediate one being to get out of this division and that's where I see myself hopefully short-term and longer-term."

Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon has also distanced himself from the Palace job.
