Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis confirms his interest in Aldershot striker Danny Hylton.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has revealed that he is interested in signing Aldershot Town striker Danny Hylton.

The 24-year-old, who scored 12 goals for his club last season, will be a free agent when his contract expires at the end of next month.

"Danny is a player we have looked at. He has been linked with other clubs as well so we know we face competition," Davis told the club's official website.

"He would be a great asset because he has a lot of strengths and we believe he would improve if he did come here. Crewe is a coaching club and players do improve here, as the ones we signed last season have shown."

A number of Football League clubs are also reportedly monitoring developments.
