Dwight Gayle has apologised to the Crystal Palace supporters who made the trip to watch their pre-season defeat to Crawley Town on Saturday.
Gayle, who joined the club from Peterborough United this summer, was part of the side that lost 3-0 to the League One outfit at the Broadfield Stadium.
"Feel for the fans that travelled today performance was never good enough," he tweeted.
Gayle, 23, scored 13 league goals last season.
