Saborio ruled out of World Cup
Costa Rica forward Alvaro Saborio is ruled out of the World Cup with a broken foot.

Costa Rica have confirmed that Alvaro Saborio will miss this summer's World Cup due to a broken foot.

The 32-year-old is believed to have suffered the injury in a private training session as part of the team's preparations for the tournament in Brazil.

Head coach Jorge Luis Pinto confirmed to reporters that Saborio could now be out for "three to four months" as he looks to make a full recovery from the injury.

Saborio, who has played 93 times for Costa Rica, started the MLS season in fine form by scoring six goals in 10 games for Real Salt Lake.

Pinto's side take on England, Italy and Uruguay in Group D.
