Darren Ambrose makes Colchester United switch

Former Ipswich Town midfielder Darren Ambrose signs a 12-month contract with League One side Colchester United.

Colchester United have secured the services of Darren Ambrose.

The 31-year-old has spent much of the summer training with Ipswich Town in the hope that he would earn a new deal with the Championship club.

However, having been unable to secure himself terms at Portman Road, the midfielder has now agreed a one-year contract with the League One outfit.

The club's official website went on to confirm that Ambrose should be in the squad for the opening match of the 2015-16 campaign against Blackpool on Saturday afternoon.
