Both teams struggled to create many clear openings in the first half, with defences on top.
Albin Ekdal had an effort blocked early in the second half as the visitors tried to up the tempo. However, Cyril Thereau came close to breaking the deadlock when he fired wide from the centre of the box.
Pinilla missed a great chance to give his side the lead when he fired over from the penalty spot with 70 minutes gone.
Davide Astori then missed a late chance as the match finished 0-0.
