Report: Chelsea to complete £8m Asmir Begovic move

A report suggests that Chelsea are close to completing an £8m move for Stoke City keeper Asmir Begovic in a deal that will see Marco van Ginkel move to the Potters on loan.

Chelsea are nearing an £8m deal to sign Stoke City keeper Asmir Begovic while midfielder Marco van Ginkel will move in the opposite direction on loan, according to a report.

Jose Mourinho outlined his ambition to replace Petr Cech with an experienced stopper and immediately set his sights on the Potters man.

The Blues have beaten off competition to sign the 28-year-old by offering Van Ginkel to Mark Hughes's men on a season-long loan deal to secure the move, reports The Mirror.

Stoke are close to signing Shay Given to replace the Bosnian at the Britannia Stadium.
