Report: Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata wanted by former club Real Madrid

Real Madrid are reportedly thinking of bringing Spain striker Alvaro Morata back to the Bernabeu this summer.

Real Madrid have reportedly expressed an interest in bringing Alvaro Morata back to the Bernabeu this summer.

The 25-year-old was recruited as a replacement for Diego Costa last year, but in recent months his goalscoring threat has dwindled.

Morata, who cost the Blues a reported £60m, has only found the back of the net once in his last 14 outings for the Blues prior to Sunday's Premier League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.

According to The Express, Real are interested in bringing the Spain striker back to the capital, with doubts remaining about Karim Benzema's future in Madrid.

Morata came through the ranks at the Bernabeu and has had two spells in the famous white shirt either side of a fruitful two-year stint at Juventus.
