Mohamed Salah swaps Chelsea for Roma on permanent deal

Egypt international Mohamed Salah completes his permanent move from Chelsea to Roma, having failed to impress during his two years at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have confirmed that winger Mohamed Salah has left the club to join Roma on a permanent deal.

The Egypt international spent the whole of last season on loan at the Serie A side, playing a key part in their third-place finish.

Having failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge since joining from Basel in 2014, the 24-year-old has now departed the West London outfit for good.

Salah, who also spent the second half of the 2014-15 campaign at Fiorentina, scored just two goals for the Blues in 13 appearances.

A club statement read: "Chelsea Football Club thanks Mohamed for his service and wishes him well for the future."

Chelsea have also offloaded Stipe Perica to Udinese for £3.2m this summer, while nine others have been loaned out, including Baba Rahman to Schalke 04.
