Chelsea boss Frank Lampard remains keen on signing Burnley stopper Nick Pope?

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard reportedly remains keen on signing Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope as a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has reportedly reiterated to the Blues board that he wants to sign Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.

After being replaced by Willy Caballero at the weekend, there is uncertainty over the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

With the Spaniard having cost £71.6m and still possessing a contract until 2025, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia allegedly wants Lampard to keep faith with the 25-year-old.

However, according to The Express, Lampard has his sights set on Pope, who has enjoyed a strong campaign for Burnley this season.

As it stands, Chelsea would realistically have to accept a financial loss on Arrizabalaga in order to facilitate the arrival of the England international.

Pope also has just under three-and-a-half years left on his Clarets contract, putting the North-West outfit in a strong position when it comes to demanding a sizable fee.
