Didier Drogba rejoins Chelsea

Didier Drogba rejoins Chelsea after signing a one-year contract with the club.

Didier Drogba has rejoined Chelsea, signing a one-year contract with the club.

The 36-year-old previously spent eight seasons at Stamford Bridge, before leaving for Shanghai Shenhua in 2012.

He moved on to Galatasaray in January 2013 and after 18 months at the Turkish club he has been reunited with his former manager Jose Mourinho.

"It was an easy decision - I couldn't turn down the opportunity to work with Jose again," he told the club's official website. "Everyone knows the special relationship I have with this club and it has always felt like home to me.

"My desire to win is still the same and I look forward to the opportunity to help this team. I am excited for this next chapter of my career."

Drogba scored 157 goals for Chelsea in his first spell at the club.
