Thibaut Courtois set for Jose Mourinho showdown?

Thibaut Courtois could be heading for a showdown with manager Jose Mourinho if he is not named Chelsea's first-choice keeper, according to reports.

Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois will reportedly demand a personal meeting with Jose Mourinho if Petr Cech starts the season as the Blues first-choice goalkeeper.

According to The People, both Courtois and Cech will be told who will be selected before training on Sunday morning, which will involve Chelsea first XI ahead of their Premier League opener at Burnley on Monday night.

The Portuguese coach has given no hint over his selection of goalkeeper, but the 22-year-old Belgian international is said to be adamant that he will not merely sit on the bench at Stamford Bridge.

Courtois spent three seasons on-loan at Atletico Madrid and helped the Spanish club win La Liga and reach the Champions League final last term.
