Chelsea are reportedly still interested in signing Arsen Zakharyan from Dynamo Moscow despite failing to complete the transfer in the summer transfer window.
The Blues were believed to be willing to trigger the €15m (£12.7m) release clause for the 19-year-old, who has scored 13 goals and 16 assists in 86 appearances for Dynamo Moscow.
However, due to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, there are strict sanctions on Russian clubs, which has prevented the Blues from completing the transfer.
Despite failing to sign Zakharyan in the summer window, according to 90min Chelsea are hopeful of agreeing a deal to sign the youngster in the future.
The player's agent Rafaela Pimenta also believes the transfer can still happen, although he stated that a deal was not currently possible in an interview with Sport Express.
Pimenta said: "Today it is impossible to close Zakharyan's transfer in the summer transfer window. This transfer is not frozen until winter, but it is possible. Now we are still working to ensure that Dynamo can get money from Chelsea."
The Blues are still looking to sign Zakharyan and could revive their interest in January if they are permitted to agree a deal.
