Chelsea are reportedly prepared to make one final attempt to agree a new long-term contract with defender Antonio Rudiger.

Chelsea have reportedly not given up hope of agreeing a new long-term contract with Antonio Rudiger.

The defender has emerged as a key player under Thomas Tuchel, but he has shown a reluctance to accept previous offers to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge past the end of the season.

With just over five months remaining on his deal, the Germany international is not short of admirers with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain among the clubs who are prepared to hold discussions with the player.

However, according to El Nacional, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants to meet with Rudiger and his representatives over the coming weeks.

The report claims that Abramovich is prepared to match whatever is on offer from their European rivals to retain the 28-year-old's services.

Rudiger has made 31 starts in all competitions this season, far more than any other outfield player.
