Chelsea send scouts to watch Chievo Verona starlet Emanuel Vignato in order to stay ahead in the race for his signature, according to a report.

Chelsea have reportedly sent scouts to watch Chievo starlet Emanuel Vignato in order to stay ahead in the race for his signature.

The 19-year-old winger or second striker has caught the eye of many in Italy over the last year, making seven appearances for Chievo this season as they adjust to life back in Serie B.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Blues sent scouts to watch him in a game against Salernitana last month as they prioritise the addition of a winger for when they can make signings again.

Chelsea's transfer ban is in effect until next summer but they are hopeful that their appeal will see it lifted in January, which would give them more time to find possible replacements for Willian and Pedro, who are both out of contract at the end of the season.

Vignato, who is also wanted by Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Inter Milan, is an Italy Under-20 international.
