The 20-year-old has had stints with Vitesse, FC Eindhoven and Universidad de Chile since his arrival at Stamford Bridge from O'Higgins in 2013.
He has now finalised a fourth temporary move, with Belgian side Sint-Truidense the left-back's destination for the season on this occasion.
Cuevas is yet to make a senior appearance for his Premier League employers.
