Chelsea loan Tomas Kalas to FC Koln

Chelsea allow defender Tomas Kalas to sign a season-long loan deal with Bundesliga side FC Koln.

Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas has been loaned to German side FC Koln for the forthcoming season.

Kalas made an instant impact in the Chelsea first team when he helped the Blues earn a 2-0 victory away at Liverpool during the final weeks of the campaign.

However, despite impressing again against Cardiff City on the final day of the season, the 21-year-old has been allowed to sign for Cologne for the next 12 months.

The Czech Republic international is expected to become a regular starter for the German side, who earned promotion to the Bundesliga during the final weeks of last season.
