A report claims that Chelsea will resist any attempts from rival clubs to sign Andreas Christensen, despite the centre-back's lack of playing time this season.

Chelsea have reportedly knocked back Barcelona in their pursuit of Andreas Christensen and will resist any attempts from rival clubs to sign the centre-back.

The Denmark international has featured just once in the Premier League for the Blues since Maurizio Sarri arrived, leading to interest from Barcelona.

Christensen has confessed to being unhappy with his situation at Stamford Bridge, having slipped behind Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz in the defensive pecking order, but Chelsea are said to be reluctant to offload.

Sky Sports News suggests that the West Londoners feel they have invested too much time and money in the academy product to let him leave.

Christensen has made 52 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, either side of spending two seasons on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach.

AC Milan are also rumoured to be eyeing up the 22-year-old.
