Chelsea are reportedly weighing up an £80m bid for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli in an attempt to test their Premier League rivals' resolve.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is said to be keen to further strengthen in the midfield department, despite the rumoured imminent arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco.
Spanish outlet Don Balon claims that Conte has been given the all clear to push ahead with his mammoth offer, which would leave Alli as the joint-third most expensive player of all time, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and behind only Gareth Bale and Paul Pogba.
It is suggested that Chelsea are not willing to stop there, either, as they are still desperate to land Romelu Lukaku from Everton and will part with up to £175m to sign both.
Alli scored 18 goals and set up seven more for Tottenham in the top flight last season, seeing him named as the PFA Young Player of the Year.
