Chelsea have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to re-sign David Luiz.
Reports emerged yesterday suggesting that the 29-year-old was on the brink of a sensational return to Stamford Bridge, just two years after leaving for a world-record fee of £50m.
The two clubs have now agreed a deal for the Brazil international, thought to be worth around £32m, and the player will now discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.
"Chelsea Football Club and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed terms for the transfer of David Luiz back to London," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The move is now subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical."
Chelsea had previously seen bids for Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli rejected before turning to Luiz.
Luiz made 143 appearances for Chelsea during his first stint at the club between 2010 and 2014.
