Agent: 'Chelsea want Vlad Chiriches'

The agent of Steaua Bucharest defender Vlad Chiriches has claimed that Chelsea are interested in signing his client during the summer transfer window.

A number of clubs have been linked with the 23-year-old's services, including Real Madrid and Zenit St Petersburg.

However, when asked about reported interest from the Premier League outfit by Tuttomercatoweb.com, agent Victor Becali replied: "They are interested in him but other top European clubs are also following him, including those in Italy.

"I believe we can handle the figures of the deal but first they need to find an agreement with Steaua. Then we will be ready to talk with other clubs."

Speculation has suggested that Steaua would demand around £13m for the defender.
