Mykhaylo Mudryk is recalled by Chelsea as Frank Lampard rings the changes for Saturday's Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.

With Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg with Real Madrid on Tuesday in mind, Lampard hinted at his pre-match press conference that he would rest a number of players.

That has since proven to be the case with only five of the starting lineup from Wednesday's fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu retaining their spots in the team.

Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile have been handed starts ahead of Reece James and Thiago Silva, the latter being deployed at right-back.

Mateo Kovacic and N'Golo Kante have dropped out of the midfield to allow Conor Gallagher and Denis Zakaria to make rare appearances from the opening whistle.

As for Mudryk, the £88m January signing is brought in for his fifth Premier League start, with Christian Pulisic also being drafted into the team.

Kalidou Koulibaly and Joao Felix are the remaining two players to drop out of the side, with Chelsea seemingly lining up in a 4-3-3 formation.

Mason Mount and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are only selected among the replacements, alongside the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Hakim Ziyech who are lacking recent game time.

Meanwhile, Brighton boss Roberto Di Zerbi has made three changes, with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez being recalled between the sticks at the expense of Jason Steele.

Adam Webster replaces the ineligible Levi Colwill in defence, while Evan Ferguson gets the nod over Danny Welbeck in attack.

Chelsea: Arrizabalaga; Chalobah, Fofana, Badiashile, Chilwell; Gallagher, Fernandez, Zakaria; Pulisic, Sterling, Mudryk

Subs: Mendy, Azpilicueta, Cucurella, James, Kovacic, Mount, Felix, Ziyech, Aubameyang

Brighton & Hove Albion: Sanchez; Veltman, Webster, Dunk, Estupinan; Caicedo, Mac Allister, Gross; March, Ferguson, Mitoma

Subs: McGill, Welbeck, Enciso, Undav, Gilmour, Van Hecke, Buonanotte, Offiah, Moran
