Ray Wilkins: 'Fernando Torres does not have a Chelsea future'

Ray Wilkins believes that Fernando Torres's time is up at Chelsea after manager Jose Mourinho admitted that he is unhappy with his forwards.

Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins believes that Fernando Torres will be on his way out of Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later.

The Spaniard has failed to make a significant impact at the club since moving from Liverpool in January 2011 for a £50m fee.

Manager Jose Mourinho opted to start midfielder Andre Schurrle as opposed to any recognised striker in last night's 3-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

After the game, Mourinho made it clear that he has been unhappy with the recent performances of his forwards.

"Torres has no future at Chelsea," Wilkins told talkSPORT. "I think he has seen his time out there. He moved from a Liverpool side where he was so successful as an individual to Chelsea, where the style of play is so different.

"He needs the space in behind people in which to run. He needs to make those runs though. He needs to make the players find him."

Reports have emerged this week claiming that Serie A side Inter Milan are in talks with Chelsea regarding a possible loan deal for Torres.
