Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas was disappointed that his side failed to find the net against Stoke City this afternoon.
The visiting Blues created more goalscoring chances than their opposition but ultimately had to settle for a 0-0 draw at the Britannia Stadium.
"The first half was difficult. They managed to get a lot of their set-plays, which in the end is their game and we had to deal with them," Villas-Boas told Sky Sports News.
"It was pretty clear in the second half we raised the tempo a little bit and we managed to create a couple of opportunities.
"In the second half we picked it up a little bit but unfortunately we couldn't score.
"If a goal had gone in we could have built from there but it was difficult because it was not happening."
Next Saturday Villas-Boas will take charge of his first match at Stamford Bridge, where West Bromwich Albion are the visitors.
