Spanish striker Fernando Torres is hoping that he can contribute more to Chelsea next season.

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has revealed that he will demand more from himself next season.

The Spanish international, who joined the Blues from Liverpool in January 2011 for £50m, scored 23 goals from 64 outings in all competitions last season.

Despite admitting that he is "happy" with how the campaign went for him and the team, the 29-year-old has expressed his desire to improve next year.

"I'm happy for the end of the season, for the statistics this season, but I'm asking much more from myself and hopefully next season can be much better," he told the club's official website.

Torres scored the winner during yesterday's 2-1 home win over Everton in the Premier League.
